Have I touched a part of you
That may be hard to find
Or Have I reached a part you have
Deep inside your mind
That often you have tried to hide
From others or yourself
Have I touched a tender part
Or made you laugh to yourself
Or just warmed up your heart
Or hit a touchy part
I know I’m not the greatest poet
Of course I’m sure you know it
But if I hit upon a feeling
That’s hard for your to hide
I guess that I’ve accomplished much
And it’s what I’d like to know
I hope you ask for more from me
Instead of saying go
The things that make me write my words
Are oft inspired by thee
But sometimes it’s a happening
That did so cause in me
The very feelings I do try
To bring so you can see
You know we travel through this life
On the same roads other’s go
So if I did evoke a response
Of a laugh or shout or tears
Then I feel I accomplished much
And hope I will for years
