What is an aglet?
I’m sure you will say.
It’s something that most people
Use everyday
It isn’t somehting you use to go fish
It isn’t something used to clean a dish
An aglet is something
That keeps something in
And it’s not the flesh that girdles do keep in
An aglet when you find out what is it’s use
You’ll say to yourself there is no excuse
Yes not an excuse that I don’t know it’s name
But most people don’t know it’s name just the same
Ok the suspense I am sure is quite high
And now you will find out it’s use from this guy
An aglet is those little tips used to tie
Your shoes everyday now you know from this guy
This guy wondered to what the name for them was
And he racked his memory for days just because
Because when he used them each day he’d exclaim
I wish I could remember, remember it’s name
Now you go and drive someone else up a tree
Because I am sure they too use them and see
Yes see them each day and might wonder and say
What is this tip called on my shoelace today
But some people I am sure don’t say to self
It will drive me nuts till I do find it out
