The morning sunrise
Paints the sky
And makes me wonder
Wonder why
I don’t stay home
And go and see
A park , the seashore some other place to be
Oh yes, now I know why
If I don’t go to work
I can’t pay for the gas
Or the car when it’s broke
Or pay for the ice cream
That I eat in the park
Or pay for the theater
Where we go after dark
Oh I guess I’ll just look at, you see
The painted sky that I see
And wish that a different
Place than work, waited for me
