Don’t you wish that you could go
Back to when you so did know
Worries were not on your mind
Everyone was awfully kind
When you got up everyday
Just a wondering what to play
Did not have to pay no bills
Just look for your daily thrills
Thrills caused by just simple things
Like the thrill just running brings
Running, laughing, playing tag
Now with all that’s in my bag
I’m loaded with oughts and shoulds
Not with mights and what I coulds
Let’s go back to when again
When you and your best of friend
Just took off to walk nowhere
Cause back when you had no care
Maybe we’ll go back to when
And go find a good old friend
Talk about the good old days
When problems at feet tweren’t laid
Oh to have it like it was
When you weren’t fighting cause
You had worries where you’d find
Money to pay bills on your mind
Can we get to back again
I don’t think so my friend
But maybe a better now
We can work for, start right now
Try to simplify our lives
Try reducing stress in lives
Try to be the best you can
Then today becomes back when
Looking back from now to then
Is always brighter seems back then
Looking back you can’t go forward
We must just start looking forward
Do the things that make today
Better for us so we’ll say
Years from now today is when
We’d like to go back again
