When you are down and out
Is that the only time you shout
Help me Lord and I thank you
For each and everything you do
Is that the only time you do
Yes go to God to help you through
Do you ask God to help those out
Who’s earthly life has just gone south
Or do you just so think of you
And how our Lord may so help you
When you say to some that you’ll pray
For them do you forget to pray
Are you too busy to take time
To visit God and spend sometime
Yes is one hour a week too much
Yes many feel that this is such
Yes they can’t spend not even one
Before it’s over from Mass they run
So just like friends and family need time
Each day our Lord should be in mind
We need to spend time with him each day
And though he know our needs, we must say
Yes say how much we love the Lord
And through each trial we can endure
If we know that he is there to help
And will if we don’t think of self
We need to spend some time to prepare
While we’re on earth we must take care
Take care of working toward a goal
Of doing what our Lord has told
Yes told us do to be when gone
With him in heaven after we have gone
Yes traveled from this earthly life
If we live as our Lord lived life
Yes followed how he spent his days
While he walked on this earth his days
Were spent in doing his father’s will
Until he gave his life and still
We oft forget just why he died
And forget about him till trouble rides
Yes rides into our lives then go
We go to him and ask help although
We don’t spend time with him each day
We just expect his help and say
We’ll promise to do this and that
If he will help us when we’re at
Yes at the end of rope cause we
Don’t spend the time with God you see
