The hearing world
\nJust does not know
\nTo the depths of despair
\nNon hearing people do go
\nImagine watching a TV show
\nAnd there is no sound
\nThen our frustration you will know
\nImagine seeing people talking
\nWith their voices turned off
\nAnd yes not a sound
\nEven if they coughed
\nThe hearing world
\nDoes not understand
\nThe frustrations that
\nThis aging man
\nDoes encounter each day
\nAs he goes through life
\nTo communicate
\nWith other’s and also his wife
\nThe lives of loved ones
\nAlso is changed
\nWhen they do not understand
\nWhen things for you are not the same
\nTechnology is harder
\nCell phones don’t work
\nThe sound on TV must be turned up
\nAnd their ears it does hurt
\nAn alarm clock that shakes the house
\nDoes not shake you
\nEven at it’s loudest
\nIt does not move you
\nA restaurant table
\nOr at a meeting
\nTheir sounds
\nAre hard to understand
\nBecause so many people are found
\nThe hearing world
\nWill not find out
\nUntil their hearing
\nYes does go south<\/p>\n
