This is more a mind dumping than poem.
\nI was married 20 years ago today.
\nIt was my second marriage.
\nMy first only lasted 9 months.
\nI was 35 the first time and
\n37 the second.
\nI always say sometimes you need a learners permit.
\nHere I am 20 years down the road of life
\nof course many many bumps and holes in that road
\nBut now that I look back
\neach and every bump and hole was a learning experience
\nBut I never thought that I would be a widower
\nwith a 15 year old son.
\nTears well up as I type this just thinking back
\nQuestions come up everyday since she is gone
\nWhat effect does this have on my son
\nI know what it has had on me
\nI feel as if I have been in a fog
\nAnd sometimes I wonder if it will ever lift
\nI have started to look for another lady in my live
\nI am too young to be alone the rest of my life
\nThe sequel to ‘Must Love Dogs’ will be my dating life
\nI really don’t know where this is going
\nI just know there are many out there
\nwho have gone through what I have
\nTo answer my own title question
\nNo I never thought I would be in this situation
\nat 57 having my wife taken at 48
\nSo to all of you that have been there done that
\nYou know how I feel
