There is so much of my life in storage
\nTwo units oh dear me
\nTwenty years packed away
\nAnd when I open things I say
\nWhat did get into me
\nTo pack away yes all this junk
\nBut somethings make me see
\nThe rat pack people that we are
\nNo more I’ll get rid you’ll see
\nI have committed to go down to one
\nAnd hopefully I’ll see
\nYes much more boxes thrown away
\nBefore they get rid of me
\nYes I am left with accumulated junk
\nNot collected just by me
\nMy wife and her mother who have left this soil
\nWanted to keep most of it you see
\nAnd it has been hard to trash
\nYes much they did love
\nI know it was once special to them you see
\nBut the memories they had
\nAre not in mine
\nAnd I dispose of them but not with glee
\nI know I have found
\nThings I have kept for years
\nMy toys and my grandfather’s lighter
\nThese things spark a memory
\nOf the times long ago
\nAnd many times it is tears for me
\nBut I must plug on
\nThe funds I pay to keep
\nThese ‘Treasures’ yes soon I’ll be broke
\nSo I continue to bag
\nAll the junk that I find
\nTo make room for my ‘GOOD STUFF’<\/p>\n
