The Powerball Lottery
\nOh yes you see
\nWas exciting to dream about
\nWhat it would have meant to me
\nTo be able to not worry
\nAbout a bill or to care
\nWhere my next dollar would be going to
\nYes on my drive down to Delaware
\nI was dreaming
\nAbout what all the money would buy
\nAnd when I got there
\nI could not believe
\nJust what met my eye
\nNot a hundred or a thousand
\nBut only four did I see
\nStanding in line waiting
\nMy heart jumped with glee
\nAnd because I was buying over one thousand
\nTickets I let
\nThe young man there behind me
\nAhead because he
\nHe had a young baby
\nYes in his arms
\nAnd I knew I would be long
\nSo I fet it was no harm
\nTo let him ahead
\nAnd he thanked yes thanked me
\nAnd after twenty minutes it took to buy the tickets
\nThe line behind me I did see
\nYes see over a hundred
\nPeople waiting there
\nAnd some yes stared daggers
\nAnd some did not care
\nSome wished me luck
\nAnd some I’m sure that they said
\nSuch a waste of money
\nBut I did not care what they did say
\nBecause the 1060 tickets that I purchased
\nOnly 60 were yes for me
\nAnd they were pooled with two others
\nAnd the 1000 were for the
\nThe crazy aunt of my wife’s
\nWho has money to burn
\nBut guess what we won for my traveling
\nI guess I never will learn
\nThat the chances were astronomical
\nBut I am glad don’t you see
\nBecause if I had not bought
\nAt least one ticket
\nI would kick yes kick me
\nBecause nothing ventured
\nNothing gained
\nI yes have always been told
\nAnd I guess the next big drawing
\nI will listen to scolds
\nAnd I’ll go buy a ticket
\nTo take a chance
\nBecause see
\nThe winner on that TV could
\nOh yes could have been me<\/p>\n
