There is a man
\nThat when most people see
\nThey call a bum
\nBut no not me
\nAll of his possessions
\nHe carries in
\nTwo shopping carts
\nAnd he rummages in
\nYes he looks through trash cans
\nTo see if he
\nCan find a little food
\nThat’s not spoiled so he
\nYes he can finish
\nWhat someone else
\nAte only partially
\nAnd then threw out
\nYes this man
\nWho I have given to
\nSome would call a bum
\nBut not me, I view
\nYes I view him
\nAs an angel sent
\nTo remind me of the blessings
\nThat the Lord has sent
\nAnd when I am down
\nAnd I think why me
\nI get into my car
\nAnd I go to see
\nYes see this man
\nWho most do call a bum
\nI give him a few dollars
\nAnd inside me runs
\nYes a prayer goes out
\nTo my God above
\nTo thank him for his goodness
\nAnd his love
\nSo next time you see
\nA BUM, don’t see
\nA person who has less than thee
\nNo help him out
\nAnd thank God that he
\nSent this person here
\nTo help you see
\nThat you do have blessings
\nAnd if things were different
\nYou could be
\nYes be THAT BUM
\nThat other’s see<\/p>\n
