Twas the day after Christmas
\nAnd all through the house
\nAll the creatures were sleeping
\nYes even the mouse
\nThe stockings were flung
\nOn the floor without care
\nBecause old Saint Nicholas
\nHad finally been there
\nYes ma in her kerchief
\nAnd me in my cap
\nWere trying so hard
\nJust to get a quick nap
\nWhen suddenly in the livingroom
\nWe heard such a clatter
\nI rose to my feet
\nTo see what was the matter
\nOld ma stayed in bed
\nSaid will you check it out dear
\nI need my beauty rest
\nSo will you be a real dear
\nSo out to the livingroom
\nI flew in a flash
\nAnd saw that our cat
\nHad made the big crash
\nThe mouse that was sleeping
\nDid finally awake
\nAnd tabby started chasing it
\nAnd up our tree it made an escape
\nSo tabby she followed it
\nAnd brought down our tree
\nAnd that’s what the clatter was
\nOur crashing Christmas tree
\nSo back to my bed
\nI did try to then go
\nBut my children awoke
\nAnd wanted to play in the snow
\nSo ma kept on sleeping
\nBut the rest of us played
\nIn the snow for the rest
\nYes the rest of the day<\/p>\n
