I pray to God my son won’t know

The hurt that life on me has bestowed

But really if he never hurts

Then he won’t learn how not to hurt

I can’t say that I wish on him

One tenth that life has brought to his old man

But God I wish and pray to you

That you lead me to teach your views

I want the best for my young son

I hope his life much better runs

I’ve been through much

I’ve seen much pain

Sometimes just living cause drain

Sometimes I wonder why go on

Sometimes I think I’m just a pawn

Sometimes I don’t know up from down

Sometimes I wish I would not drowned

Yes drown in self pity you see

I lose my faith in God you see

When I keep faith

It seems for me

Much clearer answers

I do see

So if you’re feeling down today

Just close your eyes and start to pray

Ask God to mold you into one

Who journey’s life who teaches son

Yes teaches his young son that we

Can make a happy life you see

Ask God what is it that he wants

For you to do while life you jaunt

He has a plan and if listen we

We will much better journey see

Not that we will not have bad times

Not that no bump in road we’ll find

We all must journey through this life

And if God’s with us better life

Yes better life we’ll find I’ll say

But just now answer’s not come my way

But I will pray

And I’ll keep faith

And ask for God

To help me make

A difference with my life you see

Not waste it wishing away not me
