First Car"},"content":{"rendered":"
My first car was something
\nI never would have had
\nIf not for my uncle
\nWho sure made me glad
\nHe charge me two hundred
\nFor what was worth more
\nI spit and I polished
\nI made very sure
\nThis car was so sparkly
\nIt shined from my work
\nI so proudly drove it
\nWhile driving to work
\nIt got me to places
\nI would never had gone
\nIt gave me no trouble
\nBut now since it’s gone
\nI long for the old car
\nThat was very first
\nIt seems every one since
\nOh was so just worse
\nIt may be my memory
\nIs shaded because
\nIt was so the first car, I had
\nSo because, I may put it higher
\nThan those that came since
\nBut not many since it
\nHas really convinced
\nMe that they could better
\nMy first car you see
\nIs first in my memory
\nSo guess you can see
\nSometimes expectations
\nAre raised fairly high
\nAnd nothing compares since
\nAt least in my eye
\nThe old days seem better
\nThe farther you go
\nDown life’s path I gather
\nAnd sure you will know
\nIf you try relive those
\nDays that are past
\nWhen you try relive them
\nYour memory won’t last
\nYou’ll find out that memories
\nMight so clouded be
\nWhen you try relive them
\nSo different be
\nSo looking back now
\nOn my past fifty years
\nSo many of memories
\nSeem very clear
\nBut when I relive them
\nWith people from past
\nMy memories don’t seem as vivid or last
\nTo them cause my past
\nIs not important to them
\nAs it was to me
\nThe things dear in my mind
\nAre trivial you see
\nAt least so in their mind
\nBecause they don’t hold
\nMy memories as dear cause
\nOther’s they hold
\nSo friend when you have a sweet memory of
\nSomething in your past just
\nRemember this poem
\nRemember not always
\nThe memories held
\nAre truthful because you
\nEmbellish them still
\nEach time to relive that old memory you
\nAdd things that may not have
\nSo really been true
\nThe older we get seems
\nMore old memories come
\nAnd we feel much better
\nWas then but will come
\nYes they’ll come a day
\nIf you live long enough
\nThe things of today
\nWill be memory come
\nYes when I’m 100
\nSure then I will say
\nMy memories at 50
\nMuch better I’ll say
\nBut if I reach 100
\nAll memory could be gone
\nI eat all my oatmeal then not remember at all
\nI guess I will try to
\nNot live in the past
\nI’ll try to live daily
\nAnd not let memory last
\nI’ll try to make each day
\nMore memorable still
\nThan day that preceded
\nAnd someday I will
\nSay I lived a life that
\nEach day improved
\nThat each day was better
\nThat old days were too
\nI hope when you read this
\nThat memories jog
\nBut that you make much more ones
\nSo later when jog
\nYou have many good ones
\nAnd so many more
\nBefore your life’s over
\nAnd open the door
\nThe door to eternity
\nYou do go through
\nI so better stop this
\nLong poem or you
\nWill have a bad memory
\nOf this that I wrote
\nYou’ll say it’s oh so too long
\nAnd that it’s a joke<\/p>\n
By Ronald
