The greatest man I ever knew
\nHas been a long time dead
\nThe greatest man I ever knew
\nI’m sure it could be said
\nThat he was just a simple man
\nAnd never did too much
\nBut this man that I feel was great
\nWas just a man that was
\nYes was there when I needed help
\nOr just to talk cause he
\nYes he loved me the way I was
\nI did not have to be
\nI did not have to be the way
\nThat others thought I should
\nNo I could just, just be myself
\nAnd I knew that he would
\nWould not compare me to another
\nOr say I’d never be
\nNo never be just like someone
\nWho I felt I could be
\nNo he just said
\nJust try your best
\nThat’s all that you should do
\nThis man that was great
\nYes in my view
\nI wish you could have knew
\nThis man I miss yes everyday
\nWas just a simple man
\nYes I pray someday that someone says
\nI was just like this man
\nMy grandfather did nothing great
\nAt least in other’s view
\nBut I am glad I had him for
\nThe short time that I knew<\/p>\n
