Tonight my son took a step that pleased
\nHis mother, his nan and his dad you see
\nYes he went to his first fifth grade dance
\nAnd he had fun and found romance
\nNo I’m just kidding, when I say
\nHe found romance in anyway
\nBut he had fun and did dance twice
\nAnd for the first time
\nThat was enough to suffice
\nHe asked one girl and she said no
\nBut he tried again and he danced real slow
\nAnother girl ask if he’d like to dance
\nAnd he said yes and had his second dance
\nHis father’s first dance that he went to
\nWas two years later, I was in seventh and knew
\nThat not much courage I had as he
\nI attended three dances before I tried you see
\nYes I was much more shyer than he
\nBut I am glad for him, it did not take three
\nI’m really glad he had so much fun
\nAnd a heart breaker he will be, my son<\/p>\n
