We build up fences
\nTo cause defenses
\nAgainst those we should not
\nSometimes we’re denses
\nBecause our fences
\nKeep us from finding out
\nThings we should know
\nAbout those people
\nWe should be the closest to
\nSo tear now our fences
\nAnd maybe lenses
\nWill show us how we two
\nWe two can get closer
\nThe way we oughta
\nInstead of growing more apart
\nSo let down your defenses
\nAnd jump over fences
\nWe have built up because
\nWe’re afraid to show our true self
\nIf we do we’ll find real wealth
\nIn breaking those fences down
\nSo tear down the fences
\nAnd then our defenses
\nWill be nowhere to be found<\/p>\n
