I have so many memories
\nThat well inside of me
\nOf days that seems much simpler now
\nIt seems that used to be
\nYes used to be when viewed from now
\nMost often times seems good
\nYes better than the times we’re in
\nBut I am sure we could
\nYes could look back when now is then
\nYes now I’m sure will be
\nIn future years the view we’ll see
\nIs better now will be
\nIt seems that present times seem worse
\nThan years so long ago
\nAnd each year older that we grow
\nWe look to way back when
\nI hear my father’s voice in me
\nWhen I say do you know
\nYes do you know the way it was
\nBefore I so did grow
\nYes grow into this old old man
\nWho does not know the how
\nYes how his voice did turn into
\nThe voice he’s hearing now
\nI know my son does just like me
\nHe thinks the old mans gone
\nYes gone off on his talk about
\nThe way things can’t go on
\nYes I heard my words years ago
\nThey came out from the mouth
\nThe mouth of one who now I think
\nDoes wonder what it’s about
\nYes will things now get better still
\nOr will things now soon be
\nThe things we look back longingly
\nWhen we think used to be<\/p>\n
