When you are down and out
\nIs that the only time you shout
\nHelp me Lord and I thank you
\nFor each and everything you do
\nIs that the only time you do
\nYes go to God to help you through
\nDo you ask God to help those out
\nWho’s earthly life has just gone south
\nOr do you just so think of you
\nAnd how our Lord may so help you
\nWhen you say to some that you’ll pray
\nFor them do you forget to pray
\nAre you too busy to take time
\nTo visit God and spend sometime
\nYes is one hour a week too much
\nYes many feel that this is such
\nYes they can’t spend not even one
\nBefore it’s over from Mass they run
\nSo just like friends and family need time
\nEach day our Lord should be in mind
\nWe need to spend time with him each day
\nAnd though he know our needs, we must say
\nYes say how much we love the Lord
\nAnd through each trial we can endure
\nIf we know that he is there to help
\nAnd will if we don’t think of self
\nWe need to spend some time to prepare
\nWhile we’re on earth we must take care
\nTake care of working toward a goal
\nOf doing what our Lord has told
\nYes told us do to be when gone
\nWith him in heaven after we have gone
\nYes traveled from this earthly life
\nIf we live as our Lord lived life
\nYes followed how he spent his days
\nWhile he walked on this earth his days
\nWere spent in doing his father’s will
\nUntil he gave his life and still
\nWe oft forget just why he died
\nAnd forget about him till trouble rides
\nYes rides into our lives then go
\nWe go to him and ask help although
\nWe don’t spend time with him each day
\nWe just expect his help and say
\nWe’ll promise to do this and that
\nIf he will help us when we’re at
\nYes at the end of rope cause we
\nDon’t spend the time with God you see<\/p>\n
