A penny’s a small thing
\nThat so often is found
\nOn the ground in the gutter
\nIn fact just all around
\nPeople just do not notice
\nThey just keep passing by
\nAnd by chance if they see them
\nAnd they do catch their eye
\nIf they have superstition
\nIf it’s heads pick it up
\nBut if tails they continue
\nAnd go on doing their stuff
\nMost times they won’t stop to
\nPick them up cause they find
\nIt is not worth the effort
\nThey just won’t take the time
\nIs our Lord like a penny
\nThat you just walk on by
\nNever pause and take notice
\nThat he did give his life
\nYes he died for all sins
\nAnd he rose just for you
\nTo say death can’t defeat us
\nIf we follow him through
\nSo next time there’s a penny
\nOn the ground pick it up
\nAnd think it’s a symbol
\nOf God and his love
\nPut it in your pocket
\nAnd remember when thee
\nTake it out that the small things
\nMake a difference you see<\/p>\n
