Six little fishes
Swimming in our pond
I remember when we had 22 of them
I really was quite fond
Quite fond to see them grow each day
Until they grew quite big
But one by one they dwindled down
They were eaten and died till there were two
The two lasted for about a year
Then we added two that were mid size to give the one fish that was left company
All were under the ice during the hard winter that we had
The mid size fish disappeared and the big one passed away
Down we are starting again with six small ones
But I have only seen four of the new group of six
Hopefully we will see them grow up and maybe multiply
We have had a hard freeze of the pond for the last two weeks
I pray the six left will be ok
