I Don’t Know What to do

Let me sit down a moment
I do not know what to do
A poem that my grandfather quoted
I can’t find
No matter what I do
If you yes have heard it
Please send me
The words that escaped him so
That I can pass on its contents
And then everyone will know

Seriously, I have been searching for the rest of this poem since my grandfather died.

Let me sit down a moment
A stones gotten into my shoe
Don’t you commence your cussin
I ain’t done nothin to you
Yes I’m a fool what of it
Folks say I ain’t no good
But fools got to live i reckon
Though people don’t thinks we should
Down in the Lehigh Valley
Me and my people grew
I was a blacksmith captain
Yes and a good one too
Me and my wife and nellie
Nellie was just sixteen
She was the cutest creature
The valley had ever seen

He could not remember the rest
