My dad just never talked to me
He found it hard to do
And now that I’m a dad I find
Some rubbed off on me too
I am trying so much harder
To let my young son know
How much I love and care for him
And verbally will show
I think that most men seem to be
Much like me than not like
But if you asked them if that’s the way
They want to be, you’ll find
They’d like to be more verbal
Be touchy feely but
The way they were brought up, it’s hard
For them to be like that, but I know it is oh so hard
There are many who are trying to change
And you can count me one
Yes one of those who does want to be
More verbal and be fun
Yes show my feelings, not hold them in
Oh yes I think you’d find
I am trying not to be the strong silent type
I know longer want to be that kind
