I look at my hands
And wonder why
They are old and battered
And I want to cry
Inside I feel like I am twenty three
But when I look in the mirror I see
A man who had aged so
In just a few years
My hair’s turning gray
And also my beard
My teeth are not natural
At night they come out
My hearing is aided
My eyes can’t see now
You know maybe I am seeing
Another you see
The man in this mirror
Can’t certainly be me
