The babeling brook
and the cattails lay
along with skunkweed
and the birds are fliting
and chirping along natures bounty way
I am sitting on a bench taking all the sounds,
sights and smells in.
While my wife takes a hike.
My hip joint prevents me
but I am taking it in my mind.
I am journeying on the trail with her
observing what she finds.
Oh yes I am doing it all in my mind.
The Ashland Nature Center is really a gem.
Seeing the water
and the deer that wander by them.
If you are ever in Delaware
try out its try out its trails.
The beauty you’ll experience
will never pale
