My Secret Santa

When I was only five I
Was taken down to see
Saint Nicholas before Christmas
He was sitting by the big town tree
His voice was deep and booming
And when I walk toward him
I heard my name, HE SAID IT
My heart pounded within
Yes Santa knew my name and
He called me up to him
You can’t imagine the thrill that
This five year old heart had in
I knew then that I believed in
This jolly white haired man
And when I reached the age that
Belief in him was canned
I found out that this man was
A teacher in our school
But to this day the memory
Is vivid in my view
Yes vivid when I see some
Small five year old boy
Just walking toward a Santa
I do recall, my joy
