Simple Manners

Oh what happened to simple thanks
Have manners just gone in the tanks
Tonight when I delivered food
This sweet thing happened
I’ll tell you
A little boy not more than two
Was at this door and what he threw
Were kisses to me
One by one
It was so cute a tear did run
Yes run right out my eye from me
When his innocence I did see
When his mom opened up the door
This little sweet boy thanked me for sure
He said oh thank you mister for
The food you brought to our front door
I said you are quite welcome, little man
Enjoy your food and then again
He threw me just one more sweet kiss
And I threw back one, I’ll tell you this
The next house that I traveled to
Not even a thanks came from them, but you
Must know how warm my heart did feel
When that little boy said thanks for real
