In The Mirror

The man in the mirror
Is the one that you see
Most times isn’t truly
The man that is me
I do put a face on
For most so to see
So the man in the mirror
Is not truly me
I do put a mask on
A face that’s not me
A face that does not show
The pain so in me
I let people see the
Face they expect
And hide from their view
What they’d never expect
I’m not strong and confident
The man that they know
I have insecurity
That only I know
I’m sure I’m not the only one
Who shows a good face
And hides all his fear
From the whole human race
Because if a weakness
He’d show, change their view
And make them think he’s not what
He’s supposed to be viewed
But if you have a friend that you
Truly do trust
You’ll let them see your true face
Oh yes so you must
Cause if you keep hiding fears
Then soon they won’t let
You show the good face to all
Your fears won’t you let
So find a close friend that you
Can be sure of, and share
With them your deep fears you have
Or ask God above
To help you work through your fears
So they don’t or take
And make you a joke to all
Because fears can make
A person do horrible things
To themselves or to all
If fears are so kept in thee
So answer this call
Yes find those who’ll help you through
Or get close to God
To help you work through your fears
Much better off are
Yes you will find inner peace
Because you will find
That many the fears you have
Do plague all mankind
