Young Eyes

Young eyes never to see
Old age come to be
Young eyes closed in death
So many tears shed you can bet
Yes my niece was not even three
When the Lord took her home to see
See her Great Great Grandmother and other’s she’d see
Who had preceded to heaven before she
Death is never an easy thing
But at such a young age it certainly brings
Wonders of what she would have become
Wonders of all of the things she would have done
Yes when you see such a beautiful young thing
Taken in death, it certainly brings
Questions of why such a young one must go
And never see all that life could bestow
I guess when I get up to heaven I’ll see
That beautiful child that died before me
And maybe just maybe then I will know
Why oh why she had to go
