Left Behind

Have you ever wondered
What would be left behind
After you shuffle off
The world sublime
Pictures and memories
Of things you said
Rememberance’s of time you spent
But if you wrote poetry
For years up hence
Some people who never had met you, then can spend
Spend time just wondering about you thence
From poems you wrote
They will take note
How you were then
From poems they read yes from your pen
They may just say
This person who did write a few
Of poems I read
I feel I knew
From reading through
His poems I read
Now I say to you
The people who
Are reading this now
I hope that thee
Have learned much about me
Through poems you’ve read
And wished that you, had met me too
Before I was dead
