I try each day to look ahead
And not look back at what I dread
Yes I have made mistakes you see
And if I think of them I’d see
I’d see what wrongs I’ve done, not few
Yes big ones happened I’ll tell you
But I try putting them behind
And try to clear my old old mind
And focus on what’s up ahead
And not look back at what I dread
I am not saying do not learn
From things in past no you must learn
And try to not do same again
Or big big trouble you’ll be in
No I am saying don’t let past
Keep you from going right on past
And doing better you will see
If you do let the past go free
