Old Bones

Why oh why when I hear the phone
It’s sounds far away when I am at home
And why oh why do my bones oh go creak
When I walk up stairs or go take a seat
Why oh why do words when I read
All go together and why do I need
Need to hold paper oh far away
So words are clearer tell me today
Old age is creeping up on me now
Is that the answer please tell me how
How I can stop it make it reverse
What is the answer to this I’m cursed
You say there’s no answer
You say there’s no cure
I just must live with it
And try to endure
I guess I’ll buy glasses
I guess hearing aids
Will make me feel better
But won’t stop my age
My age getting older
I guess it must be
I guess I won’t hear all
Or be able to see
But pills and some lineament
Now is the cure
To help these old bones of mine
Since there’s no cure
