The time has come for me to run
Out in the world and have some fun
I do hope that my little rhymes
Don’t find you wanting to do crimes
The kinds of things that twill end these poems
And send me to oblivion
I’ve tried to say some whitty things
And sometimes only half come through
I’m sure you know which half are they
The ones that tell you you’ll soon pay
To have me done, yes done away
My poems they sometimes have a theme
Then others just to let off steam
I do sure hope you won’t get rope
To try and string up this old dope
Again I say I must away
And go until tomorrow day
Again I’ll come to bother you
So then you’ll get a gun and you’ll
Pull the trigger so to end
These dreaded rhymes from start again
