Why can’t close ones see your gifts
Why should you so wonder if
Wonder if you did something
Whether recognition it would bring
Many people try so hard
And it never does seem in the cards
That the people who are close
Will so support you the most
Am I the only one to see
How unimportant I can be
To close ones who I’d like to see
That they feel that what they see
What they see me do in life
Matters and that all my strides
Strides to do the best I can
Sometimes is much better than
Better than what they can do
But response is critique of you
Not say heh you did real great
And no other’s could have made
Made a difference made a slash
No it seems they like to dash
Dash your talents make you feel
What you do is not a big deal
Guess I’ll just go trying so
Finding other’s who’ll bestow
True assessment of what I try
Try my best to do and try
So my message so to you
Is to bolster all around you
Help them build their confidence
Not belittle or look askance
No foster their talents so
And much better things will go
They will be the best can be
And feel good you helped them see
Helped them see what they could do
In all things that they try to do
